Winter Weather Watch
January 20, 2026
Notice to all Water Customers:
Forecasts indicate the potential for an extended period of winter weather with temperatures well below freezing. Prolonged freezing conditions significantly increase the risk of frozen or burst water pipes, which can result in loss of water service and costly damage.
To help protect your water service and plumbing, we strongly recommend the following precautions:
- Insulate exposed pipes located in crawl spaces, basements, garages, attics, and along exterior walls.
- Cover outdoor faucets with insulated faucet covers and disconnect garden hoses.
- Seal air leaks around windows, doors, and where pipes enter your home.
- Open cabinet doors under sinks to allow warmer air to circulate around plumbing.
- Allow faucets to drip slowly during extremely cold temperatures, especially those on exterior walls.
- Keep your home heated to at least 55°F, even if you are away.
- Locate your main shutoff valve and ensure you know how to turn it off in case of a burst pipe.
If you experience a loss of water pressure or suspect a frozen or broken water line, please contact a licensed plumber. If the issue appears to be related to the water main or meter, contact our emergency number as soon as possible at (479)877-9368.
We also offer a free service to shutoff your water prior to the winter weather in the event you will not be home or cannot do it yourself. If you would like us to turn your water off, please contact us before noon on Thursday, January 22nd. To request this service, please email us at billing@bcwa4.com or call our office at (479)877-9364.
We appreciate your cooperation in taking these preventative measures. Updates will be provided as conditions warrant.
Stay safe and warm,
BCWA4 Staff
