Benton County Water Authority 4 has secured funding that will be used to upgrade portions of the water main from 3 and 4 inch water lines to 6 inch water lines. This project is to help address the growth and increased water demand at the northern end of Ervin McGarrah Road. The water line replacements will start at the fire hydrant just north of the Edens Bluff Subdivision. The water line replacements will continue north along Ervin McGarrah Road to just outside of the Buena Vista Subdivision. We will also be replacing sections of water main along Indian Trails Ranch Road, stopping at the Gate for the South Mountain Subdivision. The plans also include replacing the water main along Sycamore Road, stopping at Lakeside Road.
If sufficient funds remain following the completion of the initial project scope, additional work may be performed. The exact scope of the work will be determined at a later date.
We encourage all customers to attend our public meeting at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 9th at the Benton County Administration building to learn more about the project and ask questions concerning the project. The meeting will be held in the 1st floor conference room.

Water System Rehab Project Update

The crew is quickly wrapping up the system rehab project. All 6” water lines and hydrants have been installed. The crews have injected water into all the new water lines, except for the loop going down Sycamore Rd and through the Buena Vista subdivision. They plan to pressure up that loop early next week. Please be aware that while this work is occurring, we may experience a brief reduction in water pressure.
The next steps will be to move customers who are currently on the old water line to the new water line. This activity will take place once we have approval from the Arkansas Department of Health.
The crew is also in the process of performing clean up, including repairing any customer yards that were dug up during the project. Water System Rehab Project Status Update

The contractors are moving along faster than anticipated. They have informed us they plan to start digging and laying the water line in the Buena Vista subdivision potentially starting next week (the week of July 29th). They still have some work along Ervin McGarrah Road to complete, but we don't have an update on when they plan to work on that section of the water line. Water System Rehab Project Update - 07/18/2024

The contractors working on the system rehab project are making tremendous progress with laying down the new 6” water main along Ervin McGarrah Rd. They have the line installed along Ervin McGarrah Rd up to and along Indian Trails Ranch Road, and along Sycamore and Lakeside Roads. They are currently digging through some hard rock just past Indian Trails Ranch Road which has slowed things down a bit, but they anticipate having that portion of the line dug up by next week.
During our construction progress meeting yesterday, we verified the current construction is going to fall below budget, which is great news as this will allow us to complete other areas of the project. The plan is to continue the loop from Lakeside Road into the Buena Vista Subdivision. The contractors project to begin working on the loop into Buena Vista sometime in early to mid September, depending on weather or any unanticipated problems with the water line construction.
We are also reviewing other potential areas of the project we can incorporate. Once we have a final determination on what we will include in this project, we will send out an update.

Water Line Upgrade Status Update

We have received some calls with concerns about rocks left in the road after some of the new water lines were installed. The contractors are aware and have brought out a street sweeper to clean these rocks up.
We were also notified by the drilling company that road bore under Indian Trails Ranch Road will not happen today. It may be early next week before they continue with any road bores. We will pass along any further updates as they come in.

The contractors have currently laid approximately 650 feet of the new 6 inch water main. No work is planned for tomorrow, but will pick back up next week. We expect the first road bore under Ervin McGarrah Road to happen either Monday or Tuesday next week. We do not anticipate any road closures for this work.

Ground Breaking Scheduled for 5/14/2024

Good news! We are quickly moving forward with the water line upgrade. The new 6 inch pipe was delivered last week and tomorrow (May 14, 2024) the crew will begin digging along Ervin McGarrah Road starting at the fire hydrant just north of the Edens Bluff Subdivision.
